German is one of the most important languages in the world. Choosing to study German at Acadia will open doors to job opportunities worldwide and to the rich and historic German culture.

A language of international opportunity

The German program offers you a strong foundation in the German language, its literature and cultural practices. Starting with the basics of the German language, you will learn and become a proficient German speaker.

Studying a language at Acadia will help you develop valuable communication skills. The German program is offered as a major, part of a double major, and as a minor for other programs.

Acadia’s small class sizes offer you a personalized education. During your German studies at Acadia, you will interact closely with your classmates and professors. As a German major in year three, you will have the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Freiburg. By the time you graduate, you will be able to function fully in a German environment.
