Acadia ALERT - Campus Closed (Weather)

Today, Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Acadia University will remain closed, with the exception of residences and Wheelock Dining Hall, due to the current campus and travel conditions. Wheelock Dining Hall may adjust their hours and any change in hours will be communicated through Residence Life.

Employees and students are not expected to come to campus and only employees deemed essential are required to report to work. Non-essential employees are not expected to work during the closure. Any events scheduled for today will be postponed or cancelled.

Updates will be posted on www.acadiau.ca and pre-recorded on Acadia’s Information Line: 902-585-4636 (585-INFO) and on 585 phone system voicemail. If you need emergency-related information, please contact the Department of Safety and Security by dialing 88 on all 585-phone systems, or by calling 902-585-1103.

Grocery Shuttle Program

Sign up for our free grocery shuttle program for transportation to local grocery stores.

Bi-Weekly Grocery Shuttle

Need a Walmart run? Hop on our free shuttle from the Wong International Centre to New Minas every other week!

The Grocery Shuttle is a free service for all students (living on- and off-campus). Every two weeks on Tuesday evening, the shuttle transports students to and from grocery stores (Superstore, Walmart, Sobeys) in New Minas. Students can take advantage of the student discounts at Superstore (points via the PC Optimum card) and/or Sobeys (10% off with a student card).

  • Dates: Oct. 21, Nov. 4, Nov. 18, Dec. 2, Dec. 16
  • Departure Times (WIC): 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM, 7:00 PM
  • Return Stops: WIC, Meal Hall, Crowell Tower
  • Return Times (Walmart): 5:45 PM, 6:45 PM, 8:15 PM

  • First come, first served — no registration needed!
  • Please return to the bus on time — it will leave without you if you're late.
