Alumni Association

Welcome

It is my distinct privilege to serve our alumni community as the 100th President of the Acadia Alumni Association. Originally from Vancouver, BC, I came to Acadia and Wolfville not fully appreciating the impact the place would have on me. I can still remember being a first-year student, wide-eyed and far from home, eager to find my place on a campus that never felt as large as it did in those first few days. Over the next number of years, however, I got my bearings, received an incredible education, formed lasting friendships and, in doing so, developed a deep belief in the promise of the Acadia experience.

Our alma mater continues to be committed to providing one of the best undergraduate learning environments in Canada. These experiences are created both in and out of the classroom and enabled through the tireless work of our faculty and staff. As an Alumni Association, we are committed to safeguarding these experiences for generations to come, through our support of the University, its students, faculty, and staff. The Alumni Association directly funds projects and programs that ensure Acadia continues to thrive in an ever-changing post-secondary landscape.

The Alumni Association is also committed to supporting and engaging our alumni family across Canada and throughout the world. Stay in touch with fellow alumni and the University through our alumni website, the monthly alumni e-Newsletter, and your digital alumni magazine, the Bulletin. Check out our Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter accounts. Join in our online virtual events or participate in lifelong and long-distance learning through Open Acadia. Moreover, I invite you to join us for Summer Reunion, Homecoming, and any of the other off-campus events we host across the Maritimes, Canada and internationally each year.

Additionally, Acadia alumni receive many great benefits and services through affinity partners such as TD Insurance Meloche Monnex and iA Financial Group Insurance. We also encourage members of our alumni community to consider sharing their talents and expertise on our Alumni Association Board of Directors. Our Nominating Committee invites graduates who wish to be considered as candidates to apply by submitting an Expression of Interest (see below).

Thank you for supporting Acadia University and the Acadia Alumni Association.

In Acadia spirit,

Matthew Rios ('14)
President, Acadia Alumni Association
