Acadia ALERT - Campus Closed (Weather)

Today, Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Acadia University will remain closed, with the exception of residences and Wheelock Dining Hall, due to the current campus and travel conditions. Wheelock Dining Hall may adjust their hours and any change in hours will be communicated through Residence Life.

Employees and students are not expected to come to campus and only employees deemed essential are required to report to work. Non-essential employees are not expected to work during the closure. Any events scheduled for today will be postponed or cancelled.

Updates will be posted on www.acadiau.ca and pre-recorded on Acadia’s Information Line: 902-585-4636 (585-INFO) and on 585 phone system voicemail. If you need emergency-related information, please contact the Department of Safety and Security by dialing 88 on all 585-phone systems, or by calling 902-585-1103.

English Language Centre

English for Professional Purposes

Advance your knowledge, skills, and abilities in preparation for successful professional careers. Our program focuses on collaborative learning within a dynamic learning environment that combines intensive study with practical, community-engaged learning.

The EPP program is for parents of school-aged children and other professionals. It helps build strong English skills for academic English study, and for everyday life in Canada or professional situations.

The EPP program includes:

  • EAP Skills Classes. This class teaches academic language skills like reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Focus Classes. This class focuses on specific topics like grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, communication, or research skills.
  • English in Action. This class helps students use English in social and professional situations.  
 

Schedule

  • The EPP program runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 1:45pm
  • 18-20 hours of study per week
  • No classes during school holidays, in-service days or on storm days following AVRCE schedule

25-week program:

  • Tuition: $9,375
  • Student Fees: $625

Fees per week:

  • Tuition: $375 per week
  • Student Fees: $25 per week

Medical insurance: $8.03 per day (family coverage)

Fees must be paid in before the first day of classes.
