A delightful mix of Acadia alumni and friends came together on Dec. 1, 2022 for an Ottawa and area gathering at Chris Van Buskirk’s (’89) home in Gatineau, QC that was simply magical.

An enthusiastic and very engaged group of Acadia alumni representing grad years from 1976 onward gathered at the Lord William Pub in Montreal, QC on Nov. 29, 2022 for a delightful evening full of fun and reminiscence about good times at Acadia

On Founder’s Day, November 15, 2022 (which is also National Philanthropy Day), Acadia University Chancellor Bruce Galloway (’68, ’03 HON) hosted a full room of donors that included local alumni and friends, faculty and staff, to thank them for their tremendous support of Acadia students.

The influence of an outstanding coach can last a lifetime. Female athletes from the 1960s and ’70s have set up an Acadia award in Liz Vermeulen’s name to honour their friend and former coach and the strong teamwork she fostered. Now they’re hoping more of Liz’s former student athletes and other alumni will join them in supporting the Liz Vermeulen Women’s Sport Award.

Winners have been announced in the 10th Annual Education Digital Marketing Awards competition, and Acadia’s Office of Advancement has earned top honours in multiple categories.

Smiles, hugs and plenty of fond memories were the hallmarks of a special reunion weekend Nov. 5-6 on the Acadia University campus. Nearly 40 team members, family, friends and coaching staff of the 2012 AUS Championship-winning women’s and men’s basketball teams returned to campus to celebrate their landmark achievements and support the 2022 men’s and women’s varsity teams.
