Ray Ivany became the fifteenth President and Vice-Chancellor of Acadia University in April 2009. Ray has advised various levels of government, most recently as chair of The Nova Scotia Commission on Building Our New Economy and co-author of their report, Now or Never: An Urgent Call to Action for Nova Scotians. At Acadia, Ray has provided the leadership and vision needed to help the university increase student enrolment by 25 per cent since 2009. Ray participates in every student interview for the prestigious Arthur Irving Scholarships in Environmental Science, and his friendly nature, great experience and astute observations help ensure that every student enjoys the process, and is fairly evaluated.
