Acadia ranks #1 in reputation among Canada's small universities in Maclean's

What are we, Taylor's sixth studio album? Because we've got a big reputation!

Maclean's published their hotly anticipated Canadian university rankings this week. Of the 22 small universities in Canada, Acadia came in first place for reputation and fourth overall.

Every year the magazine ranks each university in our country across 15 performance indicators. This year they changed up their categorizing to large, mid-size, and small, based on the number of students enrolled at each institution.

Included in the metrics, alongside research volume, library acquisitions, etc, is a reputational survey conducted in partnership with Angus Reid. The survey taps faculty, senior administrators and employers across Canada to find out how they view each of Canada's universities and their graduates.

This year's profile of Acadia cited the new student centre now under construction and the hands-on experiential learning opportunities Acadia students can access through our co-op program.

Maclean's pointed to community development, environmental science, and law and society as standout programs at Acadia.

"I'm delighted but not surprised to learn that Acadia has ranked first in reputation amongst small universities in the country," says Dr. Jeff Hennessy, President and Vice-Chancellor. "Our graduates consistently demonstrate what they learn at Acadia when they move out into the world: diligence, thoughtfulness, kindness, and orientation towards community building."
