Acadia student photos earn top spots in MPHEC contest

Acadia University student Christiane Whitehouse is the winner of the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission (MPHEC) Student Photo and Video Contest: “The Student Experience.”

Winner

“Students provided us with a splendid glimpse into what they particularly value about their university experience here in the Maritimes,” said Mireille Duguay, Commission CEO, “I want to thank all those who took the time and effort to submit a photo or video for our contest.”

The first place winner’s stunning photo features three bright red doors paired with the following caption: “An education opens doors, and a quality education will open the right ones.”

An entry by Colin Smith, also a student at Acadia University, was a runner up image. His photo captures the beauty and tranquility of a class canoe trip – it’s not hard to see why “one of [his] favourite classrooms is the outdoors.”

The winning photos and videos will be featured in MPHEC publications and presentations.  They can all be viewed now on the Commission’s website: www.mphec.ca/general/photocontestwinners.aspx
