Acadia’s administration proposes new talks for later today

Acadia University is proposing that new contract talks between the administration and the Acadia University Faculty Association begin today.

The university’s administration contacted the conciliator appointed by the Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Advanced Education.

“We have always maintained that we are prepared to invest in our faculty at a level that is fair and affordable,” said administration negotiating team spokesperson Dr. Peter Williams.

“We feel it is in the best interests of the institution to try to conclude a collective agreement to remove the uncertainty that students, faculty and staff have been feeling. We offer it as a gesture of good faith and hope the association will return to the table in the same spirit.”
