Kitchen Wizards Celebrates 15 Years of Culinary Magic

The Kitchen Wizards Celebration at the Wolfville Farmers’ Market on December 4 brought together guests from campus and community who braved the snowy weather to join in a warm gathering.

Kitchen Wizards is a collaboration between Acadia University and the Wolfville Farmers’ Market held each fall. By trying out fun recipes, it aims to enthuse and empower young people, especially 6-12 year olds, to enjoy local fruits and vegetables.

Together, attendees reflected on over 15 years of partnership and 14 years since the program’s first iteration. They enjoyed student-created recipes from over the years, got delightfully silly posing in tomato, carrot, and wizard costumes at the photobooth, and explored student-made educational tools – from games to colouring pages – that invited both kids and adults to play and learn.

The excitement and energy in the room made it clear how meaningful this program is for Acadia students and the broader Wolfville community.
