Remembering Peter A. Bailey
Acadia mourns the loss of Peter Albert Bailey, who passed on June 29, 2026, at Valley Hospice, Kentville. Peter worked as an electrician at Acadia for 35 years.
He also served as President and VP of the Union (Operating Engineers and CUPE), was a member of the Equity Committee and sat on the Pension Board.
Peter's friends and former co-workers in the Physical Plant, Derek Parker and Dave Watson, share these memories of Peter:
“Along with Peter being well liked by all co-workers, faculty, and staff while he worked as an electrician on the Acadia campus, he had a fun side to his personality. During some of those hot summer days when the trades were doing maintenance and room checks in the residence buildings, he was known to help others deal with the heat by placing the odd bucket of water above a doorway. In that way, when his co-workers entered the room, they would receive a nice cooling shower to help them deal with the heat.”
“He was very compassionate and caring concerning his co-workers. He will be missed by all those that knew him.”
