Greetings, all, from downtown Wolfville, where the Christmas spirit is in the air (along with a few snowflakes)!

We’re just wrapping up the fall term here on campus and it has been a great one. Students are completing their exams and most are heading home to spend time with family and friends. Our Chancellor likes to boast that approximately 80% of our students report doing some form of volunteer work, whether it be the S.M.I.L.E. program, or some other worthy cause. The Axewomen and Axemen have distinguished themselves in the pool, on the fields, courts and ice and lead the nation with the highest percentage, per capita, of Academic All-Canadians. In our own special way, Acadia continues to be a force in the pursuit of knowledge and personal growth.

I’m reaching out today to encourage you to attend an Alumni Reception in Winnipeg on the evening of Thursday, January 25. I’m sending this note far and wide as I know Acadia grads travel a lot and just may find themselves in the area on that date. If that’s the case, or if you’re living local, come on out and connect with alumni to enjoy a little warm Maritime good cheer on what, I’m sure, will be a chilly evening.
