Celebrating Ted Upshaw in Halifax

November 20, 2021 (5:00 pm - 7:30 pm)

We’re getting out on the road again and we can’t wait to see you! Our first stop is Halifax, Nova Scotia, where we have one of our largest pockets of Acadia alumni. You are invited to join Vice-President, Advancement Nancy Handrigan ('92) and Executive Director, Alumni Affairs Oonagh Proudfoot (’93, ’06) for the latest news, some Acadia spirit and good old-fashioned camaraderie on November 20, 2021, 5-7:30 p.m. at The Auction House, 1726 Argyle Street. If that weren’t enough, we are honouring Acadia Alumni Association Board member and Axemen basketball star Ted Upshaw (’80) prior to his induction into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame.

The Auction House will have several Acadia specials on the menu so come on out, wish Ted all the best and enjoy some good food and great conversation with members of the Acadia Alumni Association and alumni community!

If you are interested in attending the induction ceremony, the doors to the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame open at 6:30 p.m. for the 8 p.m. induction ceremony. Separate registration through the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame is necessary.

Upshaw, of Three Mile Plains, Nova Scotia, was a two-time All-Canadian and CIAU basketball scoring and rebounding leader during his career at Acadia. He still holds the record at Acadia for the most regular season points (1,563), field goals (664), and was a member of Canada’s Senior Men’s National Team program from 1976 to 1980.

Registration is limited, so don’t delay! Register today for this special in-person event to honour one of Acadia’s outstanding athletes and ambassadors: http://attend.com/HalifaxwithTedUpshaw.
