A vibrant group of Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) alumni gathered at the Daily Grind Café and Bar in Halifax on January 31, 2025. Forty-five grads of the last decade made new connections and nourished friendships, as they reminisced and reconnected throughout the evening.

Stunt performer Maya Macatumpag-Murray named 2025 Outstanding Young Alumni Award recipient

Maya Macatumpag-Murray’s (’16) endeavours have truly distinguished her professionally. As a stunt performer, she broke into the film industry as an eight-year-old when she landed a role in Smallville and later went on to work in such notable films as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), Good Boys (2019), and Deadpool 2 (2018), to name just a few.  Unafraid of risk, she embraces challenge as opportunity, and the Acadia Alumni Association is proud to acknowledge her as the 2025 recipient of its Outstanding Young Alumni Award.

Stokesbury-Price siblings continue family’s athletic, academic tradition

By being chosen to be among the captains of their respective Acadia swim teams at the start of this season, siblings Bo and Eliza Stokesbury-Price are continuing an Acadia athletic and academic tradition in their family that dates back more than 60 years and is now into the third generation.

Heartwarming, emotional evening at Halifax Holiday Reception

The weather outside was frightful, but the atmosphere inside Office Interiors in Dartmouth at the Halifax Holiday Reception for Acadia alumni and friends on Thursday, December 5 was simply delightful. More than 70 guests braved rainy, stormy conditions to share some Acadia spirit and enjoy fine food and great conversation, creating plenty of warmth and energy throughout the evening.
