A grand time at St. John’s gathering

There was something for everyone on Tuesday, May 21 when Acadia alumni representing grad years spanning six decades gathered for a reception at O’Reilly’s Irish Newfoundland Pub in St. John's. Guests enjoyed reconnecting with their alma mater, especially the '77 crowd, with many greeting old friends and making new acquaintances. It was great to chat with folks from different academic backgrounds and career paths and to have an opportunity to thank past student leaders like George Philp ('18), former Alumni Association Board member Heather Hickman ('77) and others whose ongoing support and regular contributions have helped to make Acadia one of the premier post-secondary schools in Canada. It was a grand time, indeed, and the group enjoyed watching mainlanders Amy Robinson ('17) and Brett Hatfield ('14) get ceremonially screeched in as honorary Newfoundlanders. So much fun!
