Acadia Advancement captures four 2022 Education Digital Marketing Awards

by Fred Sgambati (’83, ’85)

Winners have been announced in the 10th Annual Education Digital Marketing Awards competition, and Acadia’s Office of Advancement has earned top honours in multiple categories.

Acadia captured two Silver and two Merit Awards in this year’s contest. More than 1,000 entries were received from colleges, universities and secondary schools across the United States and elsewhere. Judges consisted of a national panel of education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals.

“We value and are very conscious of our audience,” says Vice-President, Advancement (Interim) Nancy Handrigan (’92), “and members of our Advancement team are committed to delivering content and visual identity pieces that are dynamic, engaging and representative of the Acadia experience. We take a lot of pride in our work, and are delighted to share this good news story with members of the Acadia family. Our team is honoured to receive these awards and looks forward to creating and offering more appealing stories, video and social media content in the future, so stay tuned.”

Gold awards were granted to 201 institutions, silver awards were awarded to 115 institutions and bronze awards were awarded to 70 institutions. Our team won awards in the following categories:

Digital Publication - Single, Bulletin – Silver

Full of news, stories, updates and information about Acadia and our alumni family, the spring 2022 edition of the Bulletin explored the value of mentorship, highlighting inspirational people who embody the tremendous impact of helping others to be their best and succeed in life and work. Published twice annually, the digital magazine continues to receive tremendous support from our alumni community and, under the leadership of editor Fred Sgambati (’83, ’85) and in collaboration with Advancement colleagues and the Acadia Alumni Association, the Bulletin offers an immersive and visually appealing experience for a diverse and erudite audience.

Annual Report, The Giving Report 2021 – Silver

Donor support makes dreams a reality at Acadia, and The Giving Report 2021 was a wonderful way to acknowledge and thank the many alumni, donors, friends and foundation partners who step up, in so many ways, to ensure our students have a transformative educational experience. The endowment fund report and donor listing were included, recognizing the individual support of hundreds of alumni and friends.

Social Media Content - Campaign, ‘Acadia Food Security Project’ – Merit

In November 2021, members of Acadia University’s Advancement team collaborated on a six-part Giving Tuesday and follow-up Thank You Thursday social media campaign that highlighted food insecurity issues on campus and offered donors the opportunity to obtain matching funds from the J & W Murphy Foundation. Weekly posts appeared on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram leading up to Giving Tuesday on November 30, 2021, encouraging people to support Acadia’s efforts to minimize food insecurity issues for students on campus.

Digital Special Video – Over Two Minutes, ‘Advancement Holiday Greeting’ – Merit

We extended to members of our alumni community warm best wishes for a safe and happy holiday season on behalf of the Acadia Alumni Association and Office of Advancement at Acadia, asking a simple question: what makes the season so memorable? Here’s what our team had to say. To view the video, please click here.
