The Acadia Axemen and Axewomen basketball teams are on their way to the 2013 Subway AUS Championships.
At the Halifax Metro Centre, the second-place Axemen, who finished the regular season at 15-5, will take to the court Saturday, March 2 at 8:15 p.m. in semi-final #2 after earning a first-round bye into the tournament. They will face the winner of quarter-final #2, UPEI vs. St. Mary’s. The championship game is slated for Sunday afternoon, March 3 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available online or by phone at 1-877-451-1221.
When purchasing, if you wish to be in the Acadia Section, ask for Section 7. Look for our representatives near there: alumni and students are invited to pick up a free foam finger while supplies last. Don’t forget to bring your own Acadia swag, too. Be loud and proud and wear your Acadia colours!
There will be pre-game alumni gatherings at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3 at noon at The Carleton Music Bar and Grill, 1685 Argyle Street in Halifax, so let’s rally and be ready to Stand Up and Cheer for our Acadia Axemen!
The Acadia Axewomen, who finished third in the conference with a 14-6 record, will open their AUS championship weekend at University of New Brunswick Fredericton on Friday, March 8 at 8 p.m. in quarter-final #2 against sixth-place UNB. The winner of quarter-final #2 will advance to meet St. F.X. on Saturday, March 9 at 8 p.m., and the championship game goes Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m. All games are at the Richard J. Currie Centre. Tickets only available one hour prior to games. No phone or online purchasing available.
