Acadia in the mix at AUS Championships!


Acadia alumni are invited to Stand Up and Cheer for several of our varsity sports teams as they compete for AUS championships!

On Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, the Acadia Axewomen rugby team will square off against arch-rivals St. Francis Xavier in Antigonish at 2 p.m. to determine this year’s conference champion. To learn more, visit the 2019 Subway AUS Women’s Championship website. Please click here.

The Women’s rugby team has also been chosen to attend the U SPORTS Rugby Championships in Ottawa on Oct. 30 to Nov. 3, 2019. Seeding and game times are yet to be determined, so stay tuned for further details as they become available on the U SPORTS Women’s Championship website. Meanwhile, our Acadia Axewomen cross-country team will travel to Fredericton, New Brunswick on Oct. 26 as UNB hosts the Subway AUS Cross-Country Championships. All races will occur at the Kingswood Resort in Hanwell, NB. Seven Acadia athletes will participate, but the entire team will attend the event. For more, please click here.

The 2019 Subway AUS Women’s Soccer Championship hosted by Cape Breton University will go from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 and the Acadia Axewomen are leading the pack! Acadia enters the post-season with a 9-0-2 record, good for first place in the conference and a bye into the semi-finals on Friday, Nov. 1. They will play at either 11:30 a.m. or 4:30 p.m. depending on placings at CBU Field in Sydney, N.S. See the complete schedule and ticket price information here.

Note: AUStv.ca and TV1 Atlantic Canada will broadcast all championships live except for Cross-Country.

Finally, the 7-0 Acadia football Axemen will host the Loney Bowl for the Atlantic conference championship at 2 p.m. on Nov. 9, 2019 at Raymond Field in Wolfville against a team yet to be determined.

Alumni are invited to wear their Acadia plaid and join us in the Axe from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the 9th when the Acadia Alumni Association hosts a pre-game gathering! The Axe is also offering a game-day special: Axe Burger, fries and a Bud for $14.99. A table will be set up in the Axe so you can purchase game tickets, so let’s get loud and Acadia proud.
