Winners have been announced in the 11th Annual Education Digital Marketing Awards competition, and Acadia’s Office of Advancement has earned top honours in several categories.
Acadia captured a Gold, one Silver, and a Merit Award in this year’s contest. More than 1,000 entries were received from colleges, universities and secondary schools across the United States and elsewhere. Judges consisted of a national panel of education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals.
“Our goal is to foster relationships and engage members of our alumni and donor communities,” says Vice-President, Advancement Nancy Handrigan (’92). “Publications like the Bulletin and The Giving Report are excellent ways for us to connect with the Acadia family, and we amplify those efforts on our social media channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and X (Twitter), extending our reach and representing the magic of the Acadia experience to the fullest. We are honoured to receive these awards and look forward to creating more stories, videos and social media content that is informative and appealing to our audience on multiple and diverse levels.”
Gold awards were granted to 274 institutions, silver awards to 147 institutions, and bronze awards to 94 institutions. Our team won awards in the following categories:
Digital Publication, Single, Bulletin – Gold
Full of news, stories, updates and information about Acadia and our alumni family, the spring 2023 edition of the Bulletin highlighted our GOLD alumni by introducing the concept of Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) and what they mean to the University and our alumni family. Our theme was: Health, healing and transformation inform GOLD alumni efforts and initiatives. Published twice annually, the magazine continues to receive tremendous support from our alumni community and, under the leadership of editor Fred Sgambati (’83, ’85) and in collaboration with Advancement colleagues and the Acadia Alumni Association, the Bulletin offers an immersive and visually appealing digital experience.
Annual Report, The Giving Report 2022 – Bronze
Donor support makes dreams a reality at Acadia, and The Giving Report 2022 was a wonderful way to acknowledge and thank the many alumni, donors, friends and foundation partners who, in so many ways, ensure that our students have a transformative educational experience. The endowment fund report, list of new named funds, and donor list were included recognizing the individual and collective support of alumni and friends.
Instagram, ‘A piece of home wherever the road takes you’ – Merit
The Advancement Office enjoyed a very busy summer, hosting several alumni events across the Maritimes. Using the iconic Nova Scotia Highway 101 ‘Welcome to Wolfville’ Exit 10 sign as a starting point, our Instagram campaign offered a piece of home wherever the road takes you to alumni at events in Moncton, New Brunswick; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; and Halifax and Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. We had a great time on the road, and our alumni didn’t disappoint, turning out in each location to share the Acadia spirit!
