Alumni Association extends warm welcome during orientation

Acadia University welcomed new and returning students back to campus recently during Move-In Day and Orientation Week. Alumni Relations staff and members of the Acadia Alumni Association were also on hand to meet students, parents and alumni, and to remind new students that they are not just joining a group of 3,600 people on campus, but a family of 36,000 strong.

On Tuesday, August 27, a ‘Welcome Parents’ Information Tent, sponsored by the Alumni Association, was set up on the quad behind University Hall to let new students and families know that the alumni community supports them. On Monday, September 2, students, alumni, new neighbours and friends all came together for the annual Welcome to Wolfville Street Fair, featuring live music, food and plenty of fun. Alumni Relations staff and Alumni Association Vice-President Paul Black (‘00) and Secretary Barb Anderson (’77) greeted guests and introduced new and returning students to the Acadia alumni community with a tent and table set up on Main Street.
