Alumni off-campus can now access Vaughan Library

Working with Technology Services and Alumni Affairs, staff at the Vaughan Memorial Library are pleased to inform Acadia alumni that they now have access to a number of the library's electronic resources from off-campus.

Previously, the library’s license agreements with publishers restricted access to all of our subscription products to “walk-ins” or on-campus use only for alumni.  Now, through the good work of the librarians, library staff, and consortia like the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) and the Council of Atlantic University Libraries (CAUL-CBUA), the library can offer a number of databases and electronic journal collections to alumni.

These resources include: Proquest Central (alumni edition), Alexander Street Collections, Adam Matthew Collections, Project Muse, Institute of Physics, and Cambridge electronic journals.  The “alumni access” tags on the library’s A-Z database page tell which products you can access. A multidisciplinary selection of materials that you may remember from your university days, including newspapers, historical documents, and journal articles are now available to you again.

Recent graduates maintain their Acadia e-mail accounts (username and password) and that is all you need to login to access these databases and collections.  If you do not have an active username and password, please contact acadia.alumni@acadiau.ca to request one.  If you have any questions about services and resources available to alumni from the Acadia Library, please contact ref-desk@acadiau.ca.
