A capacity crowd of Acadia alumni and friends gathered at McInnes Cooper, Purdy’s Wharf in Halifax on Dec. 7 for a Holiday Reception and to honour the 2022 Acadia Alumni Isaac Chipman Award for Excellence in Alumni Service recipient, Barry Taylor (’80). Guests were invited to celebrate the spirit of the season and the room literally sparkled with their enthusiasm and passion for Acadia! Newly appointed VP, Advancement Nancy Handrigan (’92), Executive Director, Alumni Affairs Oonagh Proudfoot (’93, ’06), University President Dr. Peter Ricketts, and Alumni Association President Matt Rios (’14) were all in attendance, with Rios presenting the Alumni Service Award to Taylor as part of the evening’s festivities. Acadia professors Dr. Derek Charke and Dr. Eugene Cormier ('98) provided live music, and guests had a wonderful time catching up and celebrating all things Acadia!
