Alumni in the Bahamas were invited to Stand Up and Cheer for Everything Acadia on Monday, February 12, 2024, and did they ever!

A terrific crowd of incoming students, potential students, alumni and community packed The Coral Reef Room at the Margaritaville Beach Resort in Nassau to meet new President Dr. Jeff Hennessy (’99) and experience his passion for the University. The Office of Advancement and Enrolment Services co-hosted the event and provided updates, news and information about Acadia, on-the-spot admissions, and valuable how-to registration information.

Guests were happy to share the excitement of their Acadia experience throughout the evening, including Mario Smith (’99), who spoke about his time at Acadia and how it set him up for life. While he credited Darron Turnquest (’05) with this quote, he said: “There are two types of people in the world – those who went to Acadia and those who wished they did!”

Executive Director, Alumni Affairs Oonagh Proudfoot (’93, ’06) and Acadia Alumni Board Director Matthew Saunders (’09) also attended and had a wonderful time meeting and greeting alumni, sharing stories and reminiscing about good times and great friends at Acadia.
