A strong contingent of Acadia alumni returned to campus on Monday, Sept. 30, 2019 to support WISE Works! in the Sheldon L. Fountain Learning Commons. The event, which was planned by WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) Acadia, focused on career opportunities for Women in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), and featured Acadia alumna Dr. Donna Hurlburt (’97) as the plenary speaker, as well as numerous helpful career stories and words of wisdom from 16 advisors. They shared their experiences with a large student turnout and all enjoyed light refreshments during the course of the evening.
The alumni advisors included: (front row, left to right) Twila Robar-DeCoste (’80); Sarah Campbell Bligh (’07); Donna Hurlburt; Maria Radelich (’14); and Erin Hennessy (’94); (back row, right to left) Melissa Quinn (’06); Judy Price (’89); Rachel Bedingfield (’02); Patricia Duncan (’09); Karen Peori (’99); Megan Dufton (’06); Melissa Grey (’99); Jenn Urquhart (’02); Misty Atwater (’08); Jennifer Mark (’07); and Lisa Price (’89). Thanks to all the students, faculty and staff who came out, the Acadia Alumni Association for its support, and the many volunteers who helped plan and implement the event.
