An enthusiastic group of Acadia alumni and guests gathered at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club in Bermuda on Feb. 25 to reminisce about Acadia and visit with old friends. They enjoyed hearing alumnus and Campaign for Acadia Cabinet member Larry Mussenden (’86) discuss the value of supporting the University. Mussenden highlighted the Bermuda Alumni Bursary, established last year by Acadia alumni in Bermuda, to be awarded to a student from Bermuda in any year of study, and he shared a photo and letter from the first recipient, Zawditu Maryam. Mussenden thanked those who contributed in the first year and announced that an impressive $7,000 had been raised to date! He challenged Bermuda alumni to come together to raise $25,000 through the campaign period to endow the fund, leaving a legacy at Acadia. “Every gift counts toward the Campaign and no amount is too small.” If you would like to contribute to the Bermuda Bursary, please click here.
