A capacity crowd was in a celebratory mood at a reception to honour the induction of the 1993 CIAU championship-winning Acadia hockey Axemen and legendary soccer John Kehoe to the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame on November 25, 2023 in Halifax. Former varsity athletes, current coaches, faculty and staff, alumni, and plenty of family and community members packed the Stubborn Goat to offer congratulations and accolades. The mood was upbeat, the reminiscing top drawer, and Acadia’s red and blue passion was reflected in fine style. The reception and subsequent Hall of Fame induction ceremony showcased the many athletes and coaches who have made Nova Scotians proud and represented the province at the highest level of sport and competition in the finest way.

Pictured above, left to right, are Denis Sproxton (’98) and Sean O’Reilly (’97). O’Reilly is the only Axemen player to be part of both the ’93 and ’96 national championship teams.
