Acadia faculty and staff took time out over the noon-hour on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 to enjoy this year’s annual Start-of-Term Barbecue in the Quad behind University Hall. Sponsored by the Associated Alumni of Acadia University (AAAU), the event recognized and celebrated the many contributions of faculty and staff to Acadia. University President Ray Ivany, who donned a chef’s hat and served many of the guests in attendance, said: “The annual Start-of-Term Barbecue is a great way to kick off the 2013-14 academic year. I want to thank the AAAU for its generosity in sponsoring the event, which brings members of our faculty and staff community together for a bit of fun and fellowship before our students return to campus.” Members of the University administration were ‘chefs’ for the event, which featured hot dogs, fresh-cooked corn, ice-cold juice, plenty of conversation and brilliant sunshine.
