It was a wonderful time in Newfoundland and Labrador as Acadia arrived on the rock!

Alumni joined us at Quidi Vidi Brewery in St. John's for an evening with Acadia’s President, Dr. Jeff Hennessy (’99) and Executive Director, Alumni Relations Oonagh Proudfoot (’93, ’06)!

Guests enjoyed a relaxed evening getting to know Jeff and reconnecting with the incredible Acadia community in Newfoundland and Labrador. Oonagh enjoyed catching up with both new and familiar faces and sharing a little piece of home, too. Outside of the alumni event, Oonagh reconnected with Jim and Angela Crockwell, both from the Class of 1992, at a local coffee shop for a grand catch up about Acadia.

While in Gander, Oonagh had the pleasure of meeting future Acadia students Chloe Browne, Andrew Tavenor, Caroline Stratten, and Hailey Walker (pictured above), who will be joining the Kinesiology, Biology, and Psychology programs this fall. We also connected with Nancy Culleton (’88) at her first alumni gathering since graduating from Acadia over 30 years ago!

A highlight of the visit was taking in a performance of the musical Come From Away together, celebrating the spirit of community and hospitality that islanders are famous for.

It was a great time all around, full of Acadia spirit across decades!
