MacKay offers thoughts on Canada/US relations at Boston event

by Brown, Rachel Anne

On March 6, 2019 the New England-Canada Business Council (NECBC) welcomed Acadia alumnus the Honourable Peter MacKay (’87) to a luncheon at the Hampshire House in Boston to discuss the “Canadian/U.S. Relationship and Fractured Geopolitics in the 21st Century: Personal Reflections.” MacKay explored the sustaining value of the Canada/U.S. relationship and said he is heartened “by our people-to-people relationships.” Acadia Chancellor Bruce Galloway (’68) spoke before MacKay and outlined the Campaign for Acadia fundraising effort currently underway (https://campaign.acadiau.ca/). He noted the strong attendance at the Boston luncheon of Acadia alumni from the area. Jon Sorenson of the NECBC provided welcoming remarks, and alumnus Dr. Tony Cicerone (’68) introduced the keynote speaker. Cicerone and his wife, Kathy (’68), also helped to organize the event.
