Trimming the tree!

There was plenty of holiday spirit on Sunday, Nov. 27 during the Office of Alumni Affairs's annual Carol Sing and Tree-trimming party at the K.C. Irving Environmental Science Centre at Acadia University in Wolfville. Rachel Turner (7) of Steam Mill, Kings Co., N.S., took her trimming ambitions to new heights with an assist from Cam Oomen (right) while helping to decorate the Christmas tree in the lobby. Young and old alike were invited to select handmade, natural ornaments to hang on the towering tree as part of a gathering that featured the International Gospel Choir of Acadia, carolers Alex Reed and Leone Stanway from Acadia's School of Music, a visit from Santa Claus himself and festive refreshments including punch, cookies and candy canes. Rachel's parents are Sherri and Geof Turner. Sherri works in Communications and Marketing at the University. Geof ('89) is an Acadia alum, as are his brothers George ('79) and Mike ('84). His father Reg ('52) and uncle Ralph Turner ('50), a member of Acadia's Sports Hall of Fame, are alumni also.
