Winners announced! Awards acknowledge excellence in alumni and donor relations outreach


Acadia University has been honoured at the 40th Annual Educational Advertising Awards competition, showcasing the institution's excellence in Alumni and Donor Relations. Amidst stiff competition, the Office of External Relations secured Gold and Bronze awards and Merit recognition, showcasing the ability to execute purposeful communications strategies.

The University's fall 2024 Bulletin e-publication received a Gold award, demonstrating the team's dedication to maintaining a strong connection with alumni. This edition keyed on a theme of ‘Lasting legacies’, profiling changemakers who have taken all that Acadia has to offer and translated those gifts into accomplishments that have and will continue to influence students now and in the future.

A Bronze was presented to the Giving Report 2024, which provided an in-depth review of how donors help to create a brighter future for Acadia’s students, faculty, community and beyond.

In the Instagram Content category, our Homecoming 2024 Recap Reel achieved Merit distinction, illustrating the team's expertise in using social media to engage alumni and acknowledging proficiency in strategic, channel-specific communications outreach.

Nancy Handrigan (’92), Vice-President, External Relations at Acadia, applauded the team's performance, saying, “the Educational Advertising Awards competition is an important, evaluative benchmark for leading educational institutions around the world. These awards affirm the strategic insight and creative energy of our team, and speak to the high quality of their work.

“Our goal is to connect with our audience in meaningful ways across multiple channels. Recognition like this is invigorating and inspires us to continue to foster enduring relationships with valued alumni and donors.”

The Educational Advertising Awards serve to gauge success in the educational marketing sector, offering a platform for evaluating the creativity and impact of marketing initiatives. This year, over 2,000 entries were received from over 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools across North America and worldwide. Acadia University's performance in the Alumni and Donor Relations categories underscores its leadership in building a supportive community vital to its continued prosperity and impact.
