Acadia ALERT - Campus Closed (Weather)

Today, Monday December 08, 2025, Acadia University will remain closed, with the exception of residences and Wheelock Dining Hall, due to the current weather, poor travel conditions and King's Transit cancelling service for the day. Wheelock Dining Hall may adjust their hours due to the weather and any change in hours will be communicated through Residence Life.

Employees and students are not expected to come to campus and only employees deemed essential are required to report to work. Non-essential employees are not expected to work during the closure. Any events scheduled for today will be postponed or cancelled. All exams scheduled for today will be rescheduled to a later date.

Updates will be posted on www.acadiau.ca and pre-recorded on Acadia’s Information Line: 902-585-4636 (585-INFO). If you need emergency-related information, please contact the Department of Safety and Security by dialing 88 on all 585-phone systems, or by calling 902-585-1103.

Vaccination Clinic

Fountain Learning Commons - Great Room (second floor)

If you are a member of the Acadia University community who is not fully vaccinated, you are welcome and encouraged to attend our free vaccination clinic. No appointments are necessary. Bring your MSI card or Acadia ID if you do not have a Nova Scotia Health Card.

Do not come for a vaccination if:

  • you have tested positive for COVID-19
  • you currently have any symptoms
  • public health has asked you to self-isolate.

Eligibility

All Acadia campus members are eligible.

  • If you have had one dose of Johnson and Johnson, more than 28 days ago, you can receive one dose of an mRNA vaccine.
  • If you have been fully or partially vaccinated with a non-Canadian approved vaccine, with your last dose being more than 28 days ago, you are eligible to receive one dose of mRNA vaccine.
  • If you have only had one dose of a Canadian approved vaccine, more than 28 days ago, you can have one more dose of mRNA.
  • If you have received 3 doses of any COVID-19 vaccine, then you are NOT eligible.
  • If you have received 2 doses of any Canadian-approved vaccine, you are NOT eligible.

You are required to remain at the vaccination site for 15 minutes after you receive your vaccine, or 30 minutes if you have a history of severe allergy to vaccination or injectable medication.

If you have accessibility issues getting to the vaccination site, please contact caroliina.landry@acadiau.ca to book a time for alternate arrangements at the vaccination location.
