Potential Exposure to COVID-19 at Vaughan Memorial Library, December 14

Acadia University has identified that a person with a confirmed case of COVID-19 visited the main floor of the library on December 14th, between 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. This exposure has minimal risks associated with it, as everyone in the space was required to wear a mask and comply with the various other strategies in effect on campus. However, we recommend that you receive a PCR test to ensure that you have not been exposed.

At this time, there is no need to isolate unless you are currently experiencing symptoms. Continue to monitor for symptoms, as you may develop symptoms up to and including December 27th. If you experience any symptoms, or are currently experiencing symptoms, it is advised you isolate and obtain another PCR test, even if you have recently had a negative PCR test result.

Please visit the Nova Scotia Health COVID-19 test site at the University Club (17 Westwood Avenue). They will accept walk-ins for Acadia members between 8:30 am and 3:00 pm (closed for lunch). Please dress appropriately, and you may be standing outside in the queue. Please identify that you are a member of the Acadia campus community and received a precautionary notice. Please refer to the guide from Public Health (PDF) for further information.

Thank you for keeping yourself safe and ensuring the safety of others around you.
