David Huebert will read from his debut novel, Oil People, a part generational saga and part eco-gothic fable about history, family, land, and oil as an object of toxic wonder. Oil People was short-listed for the Amazon Canada First Novel Award and a finalist for the Thomas Raddall Atlantic Fiction Award. David has also won the CBC Short Story Prize and The Walrus Poetry Prize and published two award-winning short fiction collections, Peninsula Sinking and Chemical Valley.
