Racialized faculty and staff community of practice - Maple League

February 9, 2026 (2:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

Location: Online/Virtual

Most of you are probably familiar with the Maple League of Universities, a consortium formed by Acadia, Bishop’s, Mount Allison and StFX. We collaborate on different initiatives under the premise of working on what we can do together as a group better than we could do on our own.

We are interested in forming a community of practice/communities of practice to support Racialized faculty and staff across our schools. We would like to find ways to support racialized people, not only to come and work in our institutions, but also to stay and accomplish their professional goals.

This is a continuation of past initiatives. We would like to continue connecting with Racialized faculty and staff who would be interested in participating in a community of practice. We have replaced the term BIPoC for Racialized to better reflect people’s preference. You are welcome (whether or not you attended the December meeting) to our next scheduled meeting. Please join us on Monday, Feb 9th at 2:00pm (ET)|3:00pm(AT) to further discuss this initiative, brainstorm, and define the work that we can do together.

If you - or someone you know in your institution - is interested in participating, please fill out the following form by 10:00 am on Monday, Feb 9th, to receive the Zoom link for the meeting. Follow this link to register: here

Please reach out to any of us (Danai dbelange@UBishops.ca, Foroogh foroogh.mohammadi@acadiau.ca and/or Juan Carlos juan.lopez@acadiau.ca) with any questions or comments.
