Two simple words cannot adequately convey our appreciation to you - our alumni, donors, and friends. When you give to Acadia you are supporting one of Canada's leading primarily undergraduate universities and helping our students.
This institution was founded on the principle that everyone has a right to higher education, regardless of class, belief, gender, or race. In 1838, at a time when money was scarce, the community pulled together to create a special place for learning. Women sold mittens, socks, eggs, and apples to raise funds; men felled trees and carried materials from the wharf up the hill to build the first College Hall. Acadia University was established.
We are reminded every day of the determination and pride carried by members of the Acadia family dating back over 180 years ago.
Today, please accept our thanks for demonstrating your commitment to Acadia with your generous gift.
Together, we are continuing a tradition of excellence.
Thanks to the generosity of the John and Judy Bragg Foundation, up to 13 Acadia students benefit annually from the following awards, named in honour of former teachers who were Acadia alumni:
Some of the most recent recipients of these awards spoke to Acadia about their lives as students and shared their gratitude:
