The Acadia Period Equity Project

The Acadia Period Equity Project is a collaborative initiative between the Acadia Women's Centre and the university to provide free menstrual products across campus. Recognizing these products as crucial resources, the project highlights their accessibility as a matter of gender equity, cost of living, and human rights. To foster an inclusive and affirming environment, the initiative prioritizes placing free products in all types of washrooms, including men's, women's, and all-gender facilities, ensuring all menstruators—regardless of gender identity—have access to these critical supplies.

The project’s pilot phase aims to stock at least one washroom per building with free menstrual products, focusing on accessible and gender-inclusive locations. This is a stepping stone towards the broader goal of providing products in every washroom on campus.
