Acadia named a finalist in Canada's Passion Capitalist program

Acadia University has been named an Atlantic Finalist for the Canada’s Passion Capitalist Program during a reception in Halifax, hosted by program sponsors, Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette. A national judging panel will select Canada’s Top Passion Capitalists from among the finalists. The winning organizations will be announced on the Business News Network on November 25, 2013.
The concept of Passion Capital was developed by Paul Alofs, in his book by the same name.
In 2012, Paul Alofs and David Shaw (Founder of Knightsbridge), joined with national sponsors Business News Network (BNN), Global Governance Advisors, and The National Post to launch a new national awards program to recognize Canada’s Top Passion Capitalists.
A Passion Capitalist is an organization that has achieved long term success by creating Passion Capital; the energy, intensity, and sustainability needed to generate superior results. It’s what enables small start-ups to compete with large multinationals, and large multinationals to stay relevant over time. Passion Capitalists are guided by a strong set of values and beliefs that form the basis of a distinctive culture that fuels their performance. They are courageous; often having to overcome significant obstacles. They build strong brands anchored by their culture, which guide their strategies, the people they hire and promote, and the way they operate.
Founding partners have reached out to organizations believed to be Passion Capitalists. Nominees completed an online application based on the 7 principles of Passion Capital outlined in the book and Judging Panels in Atlantic Canada, Ontario, and Western Canada selected Finalists across the country.
