Global Bluenosers share wonderful East Coast vibe in San Francisco

A lively group of Global Bluenosers packed Kells Irish Restaurant for a Sociable! in San Francisco on October 24 that celebrated community, connection, and all things Nova Scotia! Organized by Sean Meister (’07), founder of Global Bluenosers, and joined by Acadia’s Vice-President, External Relations Nancy Handrigan ('92), guests enjoyed a classic East Coast evening in the City by the Bay, sharing stories about Nova Scotia, meeting old friends and making new ones.

Fine mix makes for wonderful evening in Charlottetown

It was wonderful to visit Charlottetown on a beautiful evening as Acadia’s President Dr. Jeff Hennessy (’99) met alumni and prospective students on October 22. There was lots of Acadia spirit in the room, and we all had a great time!

Alumni bring energy and enthusiasm to Homecoming 2024 celebration

Alumni and friends filled our campus October 17-20, bringing energy, enthusiasm and Acadia spirit to the University during Homecoming Weekend 2024. Temperatures were unseasonably warm and folks took full advantage, enjoying a busy slate of events.

Bruce Phinney honoured with Isaac Chipman Award for Excellence in Alumni Service

Larger than life. Many are described that way, but few people can match the hype. Then there’s Bruce Phinney (’81). A dynamic personality, Bruce embodied the spirit and intention of Acadia University’s mandate and values. He was a fierce advocate for countless students, serving Acadia administration, alumni, faculty and staff with verve, intelligence, and insight. Acadia was his heart and soul, and why the Acadia Alumni Association is proud to announce that he is the 2024 recipient of the Isaac Chipman Award for Excellence in Alumni Service.

Awards help strengthen a family bond

Katrina Hayes and Leila Beaudet are both successful Acadia students pursuing double majors - Katrina in Sociology and Women’s and Gender Studies, and Leila in Biology and Environmental and Sustainability Studies. Both have received important financial awards. They also happen to be mother and daughter.

Joyful group of Acadia alumni gather in Bermuda

A rainy night did little to dampen the enthusiasm of a joyful group of Acadia alumni who came together on October 9, 2024 at Ascots Restaurant in Pembroke, Bermuda.
