Acadia University has been honoured with prestigious awards at the 39th Annual Educational Advertising Awards competition, showcasing the institution's excellence in Alumni and Donor Relations. Amidst stiff competition, the University's Office of Advancement communications team secured Gold and Silver awards, alongside Merit recognitions, reflecting their outstanding ability to execute impactful communications strategies. 

Acadia alumni representing grad years ranging from the 1960s to the 2010s gathered at VEDA Ovolo Central in Hong Kong on March 7, 2024. Comprised of regulars and several newcomers, guests enjoyed sharing their Acadia stories – including some hilarious reminiscences of social activities in the Students’ Union Building – and contemplating the next get-together.

A loyal group of Acadia alumni in Malaysia joined Vice-President, Advancement Nancy Handrigan (’92) at the Cellar Door in Kuala Lumpur to welcome new University President Dr. Jeff Hennessy (’99) and hear about his first six months in the role at Acadia.

An enthusiastic group of alumni keen to be engaged with Acadia enjoyed an intimate and lively gathering in the Main Hall at TANOKE in Singapore on February 29, 2024 to meet President Dr. Jeff Hennessy (’99), learn more about him, and experience his passion for the University.

Don Clow (’83) is a go-to kind of guy who always comes up clutch, and the rural PEI native has proven this time and again during his illustrious career as a student-athlete, businessperson, community advocate and philanthropist. The Acadia Alumni Association applauds his remarkable commitment to community, the University and its constituency, and is pleased to add another accolade to his resume by naming Don as this year's Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.

Suzanne Knight (’07) presented an incredibly positive perspective on crisis management with her very informative presentation, “Never waste a good crisis: embrace the opportunity for transformation” at this year’s Toronto Business Breakfast on February 15, 2024. Highlighting that flexibility and leadership are key, Suzanne stressed that we all must start small and learn fast, and remember that all crises come with their own set of ripple effects.
