Acadia ALERT - Acadia Athletic Complex Closing Early - Weather

Due to the forecasted weather, the Acadia Athletic Complex will be closing at 11am on 29 December 2025. All patrons will be required to exit the complex at that time. Conditions will be assessed throughout the day with the possibility of opening later in the afternoon or evening. A follow up message will be sent in the event the complex can reopen if weather conditions improve.

A modern-day pioneer in cancer research is honouring a similar pioneer from the last century. Allen Eaves (’62) is funding the creation of a larger-than-life bronze portrait of Charles Huggins, who graduated from Acadia in 1920.

Alumni Association commitment to COVID-19 Student Relief Fund increased to $100,000

The Acadia Alumni Association has doubled its commitment to COVID-19 relief at Acadia to $100,000 by adding another $40,000 to the Student Relief Fund and earmarking $10,000 for immediate aid for international students.

Former ASU general manager Ian Morrison named Honorary Alumnus

The Acadia Alumni Association has designated former General Manager of the Acadia Students’ Union Ian Morrison as an Honorary Alumnus for his outstanding contributions to the Acadia community over the past 25 years.

Paying it forward and staying connected

Kim Meechan (’80, ’81, ’84) spent her career caring for the vulnerable in society. With three Acadia degrees in psychology (BA, BA Hons and MSc), she headed to Saskatchewan after graduation and worked for three and a half years as a psychologist for the provincial government, counselling children and families.
