Acadia University is globally recognized for fostering a research environment that offers all students the chance to participate in research and community engagement. The Research and Innovation Office, which includes the Office of Industry and Community Engagement (ICE), encourages students and faculty to explore local and international issues in an interdisciplinary way. Acadia also offers entrepreneurship and experiential learning opportunities through Launchbox. We offer a large number of undergraduate Honours programs — most of which are thesis-based—and 18 Masters programs & an Inter-University Doctoral Program in Educational Studies.

Acadia stalwarts receive prestigious Arthur L. Irving Medal of Commitment

One of Acadia University’s highest honours, the Arthur L. Irving Medal of Commitment, has been awarded to three outstanding members of the Acadia community: Libby Burnham (’60, ’00); Dr. Kelvin Ogilvie (’63, ’64, ’83); and Sandra Irving (’74, ’17).

Our students receive one-on-one research mentoring by highly skilled faculty members who are actively engaged in research. This provides wonderful experimental learning opportunities, which serves as the foundation for careers in multiple sectors.

Faculty

Acadia's faculty participate in global collaborations and partner with industry, government and community partners. We foster a participatory and interdisciplinary environment. Our faculty includes four Canada Research Chairs and leaders of a variety of research centres and institutes.
