Acadia ALERT - Campus Closed (Weather)

Today, Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Acadia University will remain closed, with the exception of residences and Wheelock Dining Hall, due to the current campus and travel conditions. Wheelock Dining Hall may adjust their hours and any change in hours will be communicated through Residence Life.

Employees and students are not expected to come to campus and only employees deemed essential are required to report to work. Non-essential employees are not expected to work during the closure. Any events scheduled for today will be postponed or cancelled.

Updates will be posted on www.acadiau.ca and pre-recorded on Acadia’s Information Line: 902-585-4636 (585-INFO) and on 585 phone system voicemail. If you need emergency-related information, please contact the Department of Safety and Security by dialing 88 on all 585-phone systems, or by calling 902-585-1103.

Apply now for 2025-2026 Financial Aid: Awards, Scholarships and Bursaries!

Approximately $8 million is awarded in scholarships, awards, and financial aid each year. Here are opportunities for you to receive financial support for your education during the 2025-2026 academic year.
 
There are two types of financial aid opportunities. Be sure to fill out the applications for all that apply to you to increase your chances of receiving funding. Please note that it is best to complete these applications on a laptop.
 
Academic Awards and Scholarships
 
Please complete this application if you would like to be considered for current student awards and scholarships.
 
The minimum GPA to be considered for awards is 2.0, and 3.50 for scholarships.
 
Financial Need-Based Bursaries
 
For bursaries, which are need-based financial aid, please be sure to complete:
 
1. the Acadia Student Assistance Program (ASAP) bursary form, and
2. the application for donor funded bursaries. The awards application only needs to be completed once. If you submit it more than once, we will use your most recent application at the time of our review.
 
There is no minimum GPA for donor funded bursaries.

Help Completing the Bursary Application October 2, 2025, 2-4pm
 
On October 2, 2025, between 2pm and 4pm, members of the Scholarships and Financial Aid Team will be in the Alumni Boardroom in Fountain Commons to assist any student who has questions about how to complete the bursary application.

January 31, 2026: Deadline to submit your application for funds to be awarded by March 31, 2026.
 
If you complete an application this fall, you’ll automatically be included in the winter. There is no need to reapply.
