Introducing Acadia’s New Safe Disclosure Policy
Acadia is pleased to announce the implementation of our new Safe Disclosure Policy, which reflects our commitment to ethical conduct and integrity across our university. This policy empowers all employees to disclose any perceived wrongdoing without fear of retaliation, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.
What is Safe Disclosure?
Safe Disclosure allows employees to report concerns about wrongdoing, including breaches of university policy, fraud, conflicts of interest, or any other unethical behaviour. This initiative aims to promote a “Speak Up Culture” that encourages engagement and protects those who raise concerns.
How to Use the Safe Disclosure Program
We have partnered with Grant Thornton LLP to manage our Safe Disclosure hotline through the CARE (Confidential Anonymous Reporting for Employees) program. You can make a report through any of the following channels:
- Phone: Call 1-855-484-CARE
- Online: Submit a report at www.grantthorntoncare.ca
- Email: Send your concerns to usecare@grantthornton.ca
- Mail: Address your letter to Grant Thornton LLP, CARE Program, 11th Floor, 200 King Street West, Box 11, Toronto, Ontario, M5H 3T4
All reports will be directed to designated Incident Report Contacts (IRCs) who will assess the situation promptly and discreetly. We assure you that your identity will be kept confidential to the fullest extent possible, and retaliation against anyone who makes a report will not be tolerated.

Thank you for helping us maintain the integrity and values of our university community.
