A record turnout of 25 Acadia alumni in Kuala Lumpur enjoyed a relaxed dinner with University President Dr. Peter Ricketts, Vice-President, Advancement Nancy Handrigan (’92), and Enrolment Services Advisor Clara Gates-Flaherty (’22) at the Essence Restaurant at the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel.

Acadia alum Shannon Boldon has an overriding ambition as a health policy consultant: to effect positive change and make a difference in people’s lives. Currently based in Toronto, ON, the 2013 biochemistry grad strives to improve the knowledge and understanding of different diseases and advance health policies for better patient outcomes. An intelligent, thoughtful and determined individual who is committed to contributing to society in a meaningful way, Shannon is, indeed, making a difference and why she is the 2023 recipient of the Acadia Alumni Association’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award.

A multi-generational, multi-cultural group of Acadia alumni gathered at the Kiangsu Chekiang and Shanghai Residents (Hong Kong) Association in Hong Kong for a traditional Shanghainese dinner on Feb. 16, 2023, with special thanks to organizers Andre Lau (’61) and Stephen Mak (’89).

The Acadia Alumni Association is pleased to announce that Dr. Susan Crouse (’85) has been named the 2023 recipient of the Acadia Alumni Distinguished Alumni Award. As an innovative thinker and physician, Dr. Crouse has offered help and hope to the marginalized and exemplifies the generosity of spirit that sets Acadia alum apart.

What a night in the beautiful Bahamas! A passionate group of Acadia alumni and curious and excited prospective students and their supportive parents came together on February 7 in Nassau at the Margaritaville Beach Resort to reminisce about Acadia and learn more about the University and its programs.

Acadia alumni and friends ignored unseasonably warm and wet weather and turned out in fine style for this year’s Holiday Skate and Carol Sing on December 8. More than 50 people took to the ice with holiday music as the backdrop at the Andrew H. McCain Arena for a delightfully fun family skate and then headed over to the Wu Welcome Centre at Alumni Hall for a Carol Sing with Sarah Pound (’08).
