My name is Sarah Mitchell, and I am a second-year Biology student from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. I am writing to express my heartfelt thanks for the support provided through the J.E. Alexander Memorial Scholarship for the 2025–26 academic year.

I chose to attend Acadia University because of its strong sense of community and the incredible opportunities it offers for hands-on learning and undergraduate research. This scholarship will help relieve the financial pressure of tuition and living costs, allowing me to dedicate more time to my studies and to volunteer in the Acadia Community Farm program, where I help promote sustainable food practices on campus.

Outside of academics, I enjoy hiking in the Annapolis Valley and participating in the Acadia Biology Society. After completing my degree, I plan to pursue graduate studies in environmental conservation.

Since my last letter, I have maintained a strong academic standing while gaining hands-on experience through a summer internship with a local financial consulting firm in Halifax. My name is Leah Wong, and I am a first-year student from Vancouver, British Columbia, beginning my studies in Psychology at Acadia University this fall. I am honoured to receive support through the Carol Anne Haines Entrance Scholarship for the 2025–26 academic year.

I chose Acadia because of its welcoming environment and the strong reputation of its Psychology program. This scholarship has given me confidence as I start this exciting new chapter and has eased the financial stress of moving across the country. It allows me to focus on my studies and get involved in campus life — I plan to join the Acadia Mental Health Society and volunteer as a peer mentor next semester.

Outside of academics, I enjoy painting, playing piano, and exploring the natural beauty of Wolfville. After graduation, I hope to pursue graduate studies in clinical psychology and work in youth mental health support.
