Message to Employees: COVID-19 AND CLASSROOM ABSENCE INFORMATION

Dear colleagues,

We hope you’re well and enjoying the fall term. As COVID-19 and its variants continue to impact our communities, it’s crucial that we come together as a supportive community to ensure our students' and our own well-being and success.

Acadia University remains committed to following the guidelines set forth by Nova Scotia Public Health to ensure everyone’s safety. Please stay updated by visiting its  Coronavirus (COVID-19) website regularly.

Students who cannot attend class due to COVID-19 or illness are advised to download and submit a self-declaration form. Your support for our students makes a world of difference. Thank you for having flexibility in considering alternatives such as virtual office hours and online resources for missed assignments or exams - it is greatly appreciated.

As we enter flu and cold season, it's important for all of us to prioritize our health and well-being. If you experience COVID-19 symptoms or test positive for the virus, please schedule a COVID-19 test and follow the guidance provided by Public Health authorities. This may include staying home, masking, and seeking medical attention as necessary.

Thank you for your ongoing dedication and commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and take care!

Dr. Kate Ashley (she, her, hers)
Interim Vice-President, Academic

Mr. Darrell Youden (he, him, his)
Vice-President, Finance and Administration
