The Universal Design for Learning (UDL) 3.0 Guidelines aim to optimize teaching and learning for all people. Released last July, the new set of UDL guidelines addresses critical barriers rooted in biases and systems of exclusion for learners with and without disabilities, based on calls from practitioners and researchers. In this presentation, participants will be able to discuss strategies and share practical resources to improve learner engagement and agency.
 
Stephanie Bernier is an Educational Developer at the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University. Holding a Master’s degree in Technology and Learning Design and a certificate in EDI (Equity, Diversity & Inclusion), Stephanie specializes in designing and implementing pedagogical strategies that enhance learning experiences and support diverse student and faculty needs. Passionate about empowering educators and students alike, Stephanie continues to contribute to the advancement of teaching and learning through collaboration, engaging in research projects and activities with the CSEd research cluster at Dalhousie, and scholarly teaching. Stephanie has been a recipient of the Dalhousie University Professional Management Group (DPMG) Award for Outstanding Achievement and the Faculty of Computer Science Dean’s Service Award.
