New partnership to benefit student transitions

Acadia University announces a new partnership with the Valley African Nova Scotia Development Association (VANSDA) to enhance support for students. The partnership establishes a fulltime employment and cultural navigator to assist students with the transition to and from university.

A Day of Remembrance

It has been 30 years since the mass shooting at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal that saw the promising lives of 14 women cut violently short. This senseless act of violence was targeted and tragic.

Please join organizers in the Acadia University Women's and Gender Studies program at 4 p.m. on Friday, December 6 at the Wolfville Farmers’ Market in a community ceremony to commemorate the lives of the 14 women on the anniversary of their murders.

Alumna Dr. Elizabeth Cannon supports Campaign for Acadia

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, Acadia University welcomed Dr. Cannon back to campus, who chatted with students and faculty, and announced an extraordinarily generous gift of $265,000 in support of Campaign for Acadia. A donor since 1989, Dr. Cannon’s latest gift will have a tremendous impact on Acadia, its students, faculty and staff for generations.

Growing local for a greener campus

Eating local is now easier and greener at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. The Growcer is an out-of-the-box local food solution located steps away from the dining hall.

Acadia partnered with its food service provider Chartwells to bring the hydroponic, vertical growing system housed inside a repurposed shipping container to campus. It will produce greens and microgreens year-round and employ students. It's the first of its kind for post-secondary institutions in Atlantic Canada.

Manning School of Business Wins Research Award

At the 49th Atlantic Schools of Business Conference at Cape Breton University the weekend of September 28 and 29, 2019, the Manning School of Business received the Best Research Performance Award. This award is given to the Business School whose faculty contributed the most research to the conference on a per capita basis (e.g., pro-rated number of faculty in the business school to number of papers submitted).
