Acadia University is pleased to provide our students, faculty, and staff an opportunity to learn and work together safely. We follow the direction of Nova Scotia’s Public Health Authority and expect all employees, students, contractors, and visitors to campus to do the same.
At present, there are no public health directives on campus other than we are asking students to respect the wishes of any professors who ask that masks be worn in their classes. We will ask you to respect this any other public health measures that we may need to introduce, depending on how the pandemic develops over the rest of the summer and into the fall.
The best way to protect yourself and others is to be fully vaccinated, including having any booster shots that you are eligible to receive in your home province or country. Being fully vaccinated not only protects yourself from serious illness but it also helps reduce the spread of the virus when your symptoms are kept to a minimum. We also encourage you to monitor your health for signs of symptoms and to take precautions as appropriate. Washing your hands regularly and wearing a mask in indoor public spaces are great ways to reduce your potential for catching the virus and spreading it to others.
